subscribe nowTaking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 20 to 22 April 2015 the show will include a great range of fine food and drink brands, both new and established, looking to launch and promote new and existing products. New for this year the show will be growing its machinery, packaging and equipment offering along with services through to knives, furniture and flooring.
The breadth of speciality food and drink producers taking part in the show is vast, creating an excellent assortment of product for buyers to sample and order. Companies taking part include Good Life Foods, The Topping Pie Company, Big Fish Brand, Rosebud Preserves, Seggiano, Sipsmith Distillery and Breckland Orchard Ltd., as well as many others.
Categories include; Bakery/Cakes/Confectionery/Snacks; Beers, Ciders, Wines & Spirits; Business Services; Cheese & Dairy; Equipment & Furniture; Fish, Meat & Seafood; Frozen; Fruit & Vegetables; Gifts/Hampers; Hot Beverages; Ingredients; Oil, Preserves & Condiments; Olives, Anti-pasti & Dips; Organic/Fairtrade; Packaging & Labelling; Pasta, Rice, Pulses & Grains; Soft Drinks & Water; and Speciality.
For the first time the show will host a product sourcing area specially dedicated towards cheese and charcuterie, the Cheese & Charcuterie Counters. They will give speciality food retailers from farm shops, delicatessens and cheesemongers the ability to discover new and exciting products from these sectors.
From independent research undertaken at the show 92% of all visitors are buyers/owners with purchasing authority and 57% of visitors have purchasing authority specifically for cheese and charcuterie. So, this unique area has been created to give visitors and exhibitors a special sourcing and sales destination.
As well as all of the above, the show will also play host to Great New Ideas. Exhibitors will be asked to submit a new product/idea that has been launched within the speciality food and drink sector for the opportunity to win the Best New Idea Award. The award will be voted for by visitors and exhibitors and will be presented on the final day of the show. Last year’s winner was Yorkshire-based Fine Cheeses Ltd. with its highly innovative Charcoal Cheese.
Finally, the show will also host the Farm Shop & Deli Live theatre. Here an exciting and comprehensive programme of demonstrations, live debates and tastings will be hosted. One exciting element will be the Dragons’ Pantry where daring food and drink entrepreneurs can pitch their new products to a panel of industry experts for feedback.
The theatre will also host the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2015. The awards are held in association with Olives Et Al, the award-winning olive company from Dorset, who is also a founding partner of them. The company is exhibiting at this year’s show with its great range of olives, oils, sauces and other fine foods on display [Stand N89].
On Monday 20 April, the winner of the hotly contended ‘Retailer of the Year’ of the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2015 will be announced by Nigel Barden, Chairman of the judges and renowned broadcast journalist.
Category sponsors of the awards, and also exhibitors, include Lakeland Computers and Pidy and Hider. Lakeland Computers [Stand N91] provides a complete suite of EPOS, stock control, labelling, loyalty and financial reporting products to suit every need in the specialist food arena and is celebrated for its attention to detail and attitude to customer care. Pidy and Hider [Stand Q98 and Q90] the food import experts to the specialist food retail sector will promote its full range of products and services. It will be launching its best six selling lines alongside bespoke British recipes, they entice and encourage consumers to create delicious patisserie. The company sees this launch as a major contribution to the bakery and home creation sector.
