Sophie Fraser, communications and marketing manager at Scotland Food & Drink said, “The Scottish Food & Drink industry is thriving. Having exceeded the original industry target six years early, the sector is striving towards a value of £16.5bn by 2017.

“The country is increasingly recognised as a Land of Food and Drink thanks to a high quality larder which boasts produce offering premium, provenance and health.

“Wholesalers, distributors and retailers want to sell more high quality, innovative, unique, artisanal products with strong provenance – Scottish food and drink satisfies this need and the demand from consumers for high-end goods.

Currently Scottish food and drink accounts for 5-10% of speciality sales in London and the South East, and this figure continues to grow.”
