A Shropshire-based cheesemaker has taken home 15 titles on the opening day of the Great Yorkshire Show, in Harrogate
Belton Cheese was awarded four first place, three second place and six third place prize cards.
The producer also won the HRH Prince of Wales Award for Outstanding Quality in Dairy Products and the Best Territorial Cup for a Rinded Red Leicester.
The first places were awarded to the company's Rinded Red Leicester, Traditional White Cheshire, White Cheshire Block and Red Leicester with Cracked Black Pepper.
Justin Beckett, managing director at Belton Cheese, said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award for quality. We take a real pride in our cheese and our milk producers play a key part in supplying us with top quality milk.”
Belton Cheese also received awards at the Royal Bath and West show and the Cheshire show, bringing its tally up to eight cups and 44 prizes.
