More than £25,000 worth of food stock was destroyed during a fire at a delicatessen in London this weekend, which took 30 fire fighters three hours to extinguish

According to the Harrow Observer, the blaze broke out at in the storage area at Bartek Deli in Wembley just after 2am on Sunday August 5th.

Six fire engines from Wembley and Park Royal were called to the scene and crews worked to prevent the flames from spreading to other shops and upstairs flats.

Unfortunately a neighbouring stationers and a dental practice suffered damage in the blaze.

In the deli itself, many dry goods were destroyed, while fridge and freezer cables were badly burnt. This meant thousands of pounds worth of frozen and refrigerated food was lost.
