The ten regional finalists of Olive Et Al’s Deli of the Year 2012 competition have been revealed
The competition is organised by Dorset-based Olives Et Al, who designed the contest so every entrant can showcase itself by engaging with staff, customers and their local community.
More than 300 delis were nominated and over 12,000 people voted for their favourite.
The judging panel, made up of independent food and retail experts included last year's winners, David Greenman and Debbie Atherton of Arch House Deli, looked for community involvement, wide selections of products and good customer service.
The ten regional winners are:
Scotland – The Scottish Deli, Dunkeld
Wales – Ultracomida, Aberystwyth
Northern Ireland – Arcadia, Belfast
North East – Haley & Clifford, Leeds
North West – Delifonseca Dockside, Liverpool
West Midlands – Truffles, Ross-on-Wye
London – The Alberts Deli, Richmond
South East – The Butcher's Hall & Country Grocer, Forest Green, Surrey
East Midlands – Delilah, Nottingham
South West – Bloomfields, Highworth near Swindon
Each of the ten winners will be sent boxes of products from top indie producers to help them celebrate with tasting days.
The overall winner will be announced on 3rd September.
