The awards recognise the very best standards in Britain’s independent, speciality retail market – celebrating initiative, product knowledge, high quality service and community involvement – and are held in partnership with Olives Et Al, and category sponsors Lakeland Computers and Pidy and Hider.

All entries were assessed by expert judges from the speciality retail, fine food and food media sectors.

Of the nine winning businesses, two are cheesemongers, two are butchers, and five are food/farm shops. All have demonstrated high product quality, support for their local community, and a passion for speciality food retail.

The regional winners will join the category winners named earlier this year in the final to be named Retailer of the Year. The overall winner will be appointed at the Farm Shop & Deli Show Live stage at 2:45pm on Monday 20th April 2015.

Nigel Barden, chairman of judges and food and drink journalist/broadcaster said, “There are some truly brilliant regional winners, many of whom source produce locally, and it’s marvellous to see that there’s a good spread of outstanding retailers in both urban and rural settings. Some of the further-flung winners offer a great service to their community but are also worthy of destination shopping, and they are savvy enough to have linked up with quality hoteliers, restaurateurs and publicans in their area to make the journey even more worthwhile. The British food and drink offer has never been better, as richly illustrated by the Farm Shop & Deli Awards Regional Winners.”

Elaine Lemm, co-chair of judges and food writer said, “It was both an honour and an unenviable task to choose regional winners from the wealth of talented, passionate finalists in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards this year. Everyone who reached this stage is already a winner and for a good reason, because they are the best. They should all be proud of their achievement in getting this far. “
