Fodder Produces Ready Meal Range

Developed by the business’s head chef, Mehdi Boukemach, the selection includes Lush Lamb Bhuna (awarded two gold stars at the Great Taste Awards), Saucy Sausage Casserole (awarded one gold star), Brazen Beef Stew and Cheeky Chicken Casserole.

Each item follows Fodder’s philosophy of sourcing quality produce locally.

Heather Parry, managing director of Fodder said, “Fodder is now preparing and selling ready meals because our customers have been asking for Fodder quality food, ready to pop in the oven or microwave and so that is what we have done.

“When we started Fodder 5 years ago I never imagined that we would be selling our own ready meals but I think the demand is because our café is so popular. Our chefs produce amazing food each and every day and have built up a loyal customer base and so the demand for take home food has grown, probably in line with customers having less time to prepare their own food every day.

“Fodder has become a trusted brand and our ready meals are made of the same quality ingredients that we sell in Fodder and made with love by our chefs. The positives of producing ‘Fast Fodder’ include customer satisfaction, our chefs enjoying creating new dishes along with selling more Yorkshire food as a result

“The negatives – well so far there is only one and that is our chefs are now even busier than they were before which is why I have just come back from interviewing for a new chef and a new apprentice chef! So I guess you could say that is another positive in that we are creating more jobs.”
