  • The Shropshire-based retailer has added another title to its list of accolades: the Midlands' Best Deli or Farm Shop as awarded by The BBC Good Food Show
New Award for Ludlow Food Centre

The independent was described as “the ultimate food destination in the Midlands” by a judging panel made up of experts from The BBC Good Food Show and BBC Good Food Magazine, and receives a free of charge stand at the show’s Winter event running at the NEC in Birmingham from 27th-30th November.

Judges were impressed by the Food Centre’s focus on locally-produced food, as well as its on-site bakery, butchery, deli, coffee roasters and cheese makers.

The retailer’s loyalty scheme and regular community events were also complimented by the judges.

The judging team said, “They appreciate seasonality, source all their beef, pork and lamb from the Estate on which the farm shop lies and also have their own post office and has just opened a new gift and cookware department.”

Edward Berry, managing director said, “The team at Ludlow Food Centre work extremely hard to hand make more than half the food we sell.  I am proud that their efforts have been recognised by the judges and that we can call Ludlow Food Centre the best farm shop in the Midlands.”
