Sneak Peek: Harrods at Christmas

Do your customers opt for tradition or trend at Christmas?
Our range typically appeals to both. Our traditional offer of Christmas puddings always includes an element of us leading trends with ingredients and packaging formats, e.g. plum melting middle Christmas pudding which combines traditional ingredients in a contemporary format.

Christmas puddings and fruit cakes – do you sell many?
We sell the equivalent of over four double decker buses in weight for puddings and cakes. Our Christmas puddings are award-winning, and our fruit cake recipe has improved this year with the addition of Courvoisier VSOP.

What varieties do you sell, and which are the most popular?
This year we are excited to offer a marrons glacés and macadamia pudding wreath full of juicy vine fruits and hand-finished with toppings of marrons glacé. We will also offer our award-winning Decadent pudding and Classic pudding alongside a non-alcoholic version, all of which are made to traditional family recipes. Plus, an exuberant plum pudding in a ceramic bowl will also be offered this year.

What fruit cake and Christmas pudding brands do you sell?
For the festive season we will have Cartwright & Butler’s traditional iced Christmas cake as well as gingerbread from Parisian patisserie house Angelina. For puddings our offer includes a wonderful range from Carved Angel with festive flavours such as Cherry & Chocolate and Apple Strudel.

Do you sell own-brand fruit cakes/Christmas puddings?
A significant number of customers return each year to buy own-label fruit cakes and Christmas puddings as they want something that is special, exclusive and made using only the finest ingredients. Our puddings are so popular that we sell them all year round.
