  • Tapas Fantasticas returns to London, and this year’s event boasts a new, central location plus an extra day added to make it a long weekend

The free Spanish food and wine festival, Tapas Fantasticas, is back in London for three days from Friday 25th – Sunday 27th June.

Now in its third year the free festival – which celebrates Spanish tapas and wine – invites the trade and consumers to come and taste a variety of red, white and rosé wines from some of Rioja’s most famous vineyards.

A diverse selection of tapas from London’s Spanish restaurants will be on offer and tapas chefs from the home of Rioja, who will be flying in for the weekend.

Last year’s event saw over 10,000 people attend the event at Brick Lane and as a result this year a more central venue hopes to beat last years numbers, confirmed as Potters Fields Park,by Tower Bridge.

New activity for 2010 includes live cookery demonstrations by Spanish chef José Pizarro, formerly from Borough Market’s Brindisa restaurant.

Visitors can also sign up for wine tasting seminars with wine experts Olly Smith and Susy Atkins to learn more about Rioja. There will be four wine tasting seminars on each day.

Tickets for the seminars cost £10 per 30 minute session and include five sample glasses of wine. They are bookable in advance via the website: www.winesfromrioja.co.uk
