Tom Chatfield, Quickes’ sales and marketing manager, is visiting five key regions of the US to meet retailers, distributors and restaurants and gauge the developing relationship between Quickes and American consumers.

Tom Chatfield said, “It has been extraordinarily beneficial to dedicate this time to understanding the dynamics of this vast and diverse market. The scale of the country means that there has been a lot of leg work to do, however I firmly believe that this will pay dividends in the end.

“One of the fascinating differences between the UK and the US is that in Britain the level of understanding and penetration of speciality food is far more complete. In the US there are still regions where there is currently very little potential for producers like Quickes to export to.

“I’m sure that this will change in time but it has given us a real clear focus on where to concentrate our efforts.”
