UK Company Acquires Jute Bag Producer

Gift packaging and retail display specialist WBC has acquired jute bag supplier Canby Ltd

Canby was started in 2002, and was the UK's first dedicated trade supplier of environmentally-friendly natural bags.

WBC has worked with Canby on various projects in the past, and the two companies' shared values are said to be the reason for the acquisition.

James Hayward, marketing director for WBC, said, “The sale of jute continues to go from strength-to-strength with many independent retailers using bags for life as a way to increase impulse sales at the till, while at the same time advertising and increasing brand awareness.

WBC will lead the company, offering retailers greater choice and options within its current branding services.
