Food & Drink Expo inc Farm Shop & Deli 2012

25-27 March 2012

Birmingham NEC

Food & Drink Expo featuring Farm Shop & Deli 2012 is helping visitors get the most out of their time at the show with the ‘Plan your Day’ tool, an interactive floorplan that enables them to identify the exhibitors relevant to their business before they arrive. The simple-to-use tool then highlights the selected exhibitors on a map of the show floor so that visitors can plan their route and can also arrange meetings with the most important contacts to suit their plans for the day.

Available through the show website, visitors are asked to select as many of the 20 sectors at Food & Drink Expo that interest them including; fruit/vegetables, business services, meat/poultry, fish/seafood and dairy. There is also a pull-down list of sectors available at Farm Shop & Deli that visitors can add to their selection. The tool then generates a floorplan with exhibitors relevant to the chosen sectors numbered and highlighted in red.

Clicking on the completed floorplan generates a ‘Personal Show Planner’, a PDF document that lists the show dates and opening times, followed by a full-page version of the floorplan. Finally there is a list of the selected exhibitors, numbered to match the references on the floor plan.

Show Manager Jack Halliday said: “We know that visitors’ time is precious and that every minute spent at the show needs to be of value to their businesses. The sheer number of exhibitors and events means it can be difficult to know what’s relevant and where to begin, so we’ve created the ‘Plan your Day’ tool so that, in less than five minutes, visitors can pinpoint exactly where they want to be. Another advantage of using the tool is that once visitors know who the relevant exhibitors are, they can click on their profile to find out more about them and even contact them to arrange a meeting.

“Live events are a key part of Food & Drink Expo and Farm Shop & Deli 2012, with industry experts hosting a series of seminars, debates and demonstrations across all three days. The events have been developed to make a real impact on visitors businesses, giving them information and advice that they can take away and use to boost sales. I would therefore advise that visitors using the ‘Plan your Day’ tool don’t forget to have a look at the events timetable, which can be found on our website, and put time aside within their day to attend the relevant ones”.

Halliday concludes: “We want a visit to Food & Drink Expo to have a positive impact on businesses and we believe that, for visitors, the ‘Plan your Day’ tool will significantly help make their day a success”.
