Organisers have forecast a significant increase in the size and breadth of this year's Taste of the West Trade Show 2010
Taking place from 19th – 20th April at Exeter’s Westpoint Arena, the show is on target to report 40% more exhibitors than in 2009.

Organisers say the rise reflects ‘buyer needs’ as consumer demand for fine regional produce continues to increase. Over 200 food and drink outlets from across the UK are expected to attend.

“Building on the huge success of last year we look forward to providing a bigger, better and broader mix of exhibitors,” said Mike Anderson, organiser.

“We’re very conscious of maintaining the quality mix and emphasis on unique and passionate South West food and drink producers,” he added.

However, for the first time, UK-wide companies and those from overseas, will also have the opportunity to showcase their products and services in the adjoining SOURCE Exhibition.

The idea is to ‘increase the value of attending’ by opening the playing field to a more diverse range of food business.

Buyers from supermarkets, tourist attractions, the food service sector, delicatessens, farm shops, etc, have all expressed interest.

A ‘lively mix of fun and informative demonstrations’ promises to ‘entertain and educate’ with particular emphasis on advice for building the independent sector in 2010.
