The Best Delicatessen
Display Competition 2010
In six months time, the independent retailer with the most informative and engaging PDO presentations will be leaving for a five-day tour to Parma. It could be you...
The 'Discover the Origin Best Display Competition 2010' has encouraged independent retailers from across the UK to improve their knowledge of products with a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) or Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC).
To raise the standard of the competition, deli owners have been attending masterclasses run by Juliet Harbutt for the past three months and all entrants are being provided with free POS materials to promote Parma Ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Burgundy wines, Douro Valley wines and Port.
This is your chance to show off your creative flair by dressing your specialist food store in a unique and innovative way; educating and informing your customers about these 'Discover the Origin' products.
The top three entries will be treated to a weekend in London, coinciding with London Olympia's Speciality & Fine Food Fair in September and the overall winner will be given a five-day tour to Parma - a befitting finale to the second year of the campaign, run in association with Speciality Food magazine.
Backed by the EU and part-financed by The Burgundy Wine Board (BIVB), The Port and Douro Wines Institute (IVDP) and the Parma Ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortiums, it is designed to raise awareness of the importance of origin. Juliet Harbutt, renowned food expert and founder of the Great British Cheese Festival and British Cheese Awards, will be joined by award-winning food journalist, Fiona Beckett and the editor of Speciality Food magazine to judge the entries.
To be in with a chance of winning apply now for your free POS kit. Photo entries to be submitted by 30th June and questionnaires completed by 30th July.
