The initial round of judging of Speciality & Fine Fair’s Fresh Discovery Awards has concluded with the announcement of eight finalists. Over 150 exhibitors entered the awards which showcase new products appearing at the industry’s leading trade exhibition. The products will now be tasted by an expert panel of judges including Stefano Cuomo and Vhari Russell. The finalist are as follows:
Speyside Smokehouse - Stand 4561: This salmon jerky is handcrafted and marinated overnight, then slowly smoked over beech wood on the banks of the River Spey in the Scottish Highlands.
Sankofa - Stand 4513: This premium natural ‘African inspired’ plantain snack producer is based in Ghana, West Africa. They work to create evolved, yet authentic and nutritious alternative snacks in five flavours
The Duchess Alcohol-Free Gin & Tonic – Stand 2040e: The world’s first non-alcoholic Gin & Tonic crafted using re-distilled juniper berries, complimented by aromatic layers of locally produced botanicals.
InViaEmilia - Stand 4530: Introduce a brand-new Sparkling White Wine made from the ancient grape variety Spergola which grows on the hills of Reggio Emilia
MangaJo – Stand 1224: Specialising in antioxidant packed healthier refreshment, MangaJo drinks combine real brewed iced tea with a range of super juices. Thirst quenching and low in calories low.
Vinegar Shed – Stand 4942: This unpasteurised Mandarin Vinegar is made with organic citrus fruit grown beneath Mount Etna. The fruits are macerated in Catarratto white wine vinegar and aged for a minimum of 6 months.
Carosesa – Stand 5030: A versatile vegan fusion of nutty flavoured sesame and chocolatey tasting carob without the ‘chocolate’ calories. A versatile spread and baking ingredient.
Mind and Body Botanicals – Stand 1903: A high quality CBD tea infusion to introduce people to all its benefits, which may include relief from anxiety and low moods, as well as improving sleep.
The overall winner will be announced at 4pm on the Food for Thought Theatre on Sunday 1st September. Additionally, the finalist products will be on display at the Savour the Flavour Live Kitchen over the three days.
