May 2024

Summer has arrived. And let’s hope with it the opportunity to inspire your customers with all that lovely warm weather stock you’ve been collecting in the stock room. After a damp and glib spring, we hope that better days will have shoppers out in force, ready to light up the barbecue or pack a picnic...which should, in turn, get those tills ringing. If you’re still considering what to stock through high summer, we’ve got absolutely loads to inspire you in this edition. From the latest in snacking, to the trends driving oil, dressing and vinegar sales. Speaking of trends. We’re super proud to bring you a dedicated section this May – Trendsetters 2024. Channelling the voices of experts and industry insiders, we take a look at the categories and products that have both buyers and consumers buzzing this year. We think it will really help you as you consider what’s essential for your ambient aisles and chillers over the coming months.

Cheese Buyer Magazine - May 2024

We adore cheese at Speciality Food, and creating this annual publication is one of our calendar highlights. It allows us to spend even more time talking with the wonderful people in this industry, from farmers, to cheesemakers, cheesemongers and wholesalers. We think you’ll find it an invaluable companion on the counter this year. Not only do we shine a spotlight on some brilliant producers, and exciting NPD across both the UK and Europe, but in Cheese Buyer 2024, we have also crafted some truly insightful content from the world of dairy. Learn about the ‘new Europeans’ - the cheeses from across the continent that are getting deli managers and shoppers fired up. What are the new wave Italian, French and Spanish cheeses you should be considering? We reveal all. And we are absolutely thrilled to have spent time talking with a variety of people about the importance of British territorial cheeses. They are an edible part of our heritage, and deserve their moment of glory. We hope reading this feature will make you consider giving them a bit more love this year.
