Think Scottish Island Cheeses - Think Arran

Using local Arran milk, Bellevue Creamery produces the award winning Arran Blue. This semi soft blue is similar in style to the French ‘Blue de Auvern’ - a pasteurised cow’s milk cheese with a mild, salty flavour when young, maturing to a tangy cheese. Bellevue is also home to Arran Mist – a smooth and creamy Scottish Brie with a mild buttery taste, and a firm texture.

Torrylinn Creamery has been producing cheese in the south of the island since the 1940s and it continues to make it by hand – the result is a creamier, more subtly flavoured and less acidic cheese than traditional Cheddar. This, coupled with the island’s volcanic soil and its high rainfall, makes Arran’s cheese especially delicious.
