  • The fine food distributor will be holding a charity ball in July in order to raise funds for a local charity, Daisy's Dream, and the Bala Children's Centre in Kenya
Cotswold Fayre to Host Speciality Food Ball for Charity

The money raised from Cotswold Fayre’s ball in 2013 helped The Bala Children’s Centre to develop an agricultural element, and transform some spare land into a working farm. This year the distributor hopes to raise £30,000 in order to help make the farm profitable.

Paul Hargreaves, managing director said, “Since my first visit to South-West Kenya in 2010, the Bala Orphanage and Children’s Centre has come a long way. The farm is now in place; however, it is not yet at the stage where it is turning over a profit. We are hoping that, with the help of the fine food industry, we will be able to raise enough money to keep the farm going until it becomes profitable.

“In order to assess the current needs of the orphanage a team of three from Cotswold Fayre will also visit it in March ahead of the company’s big fundraising push this summer. The deal from the company to its employees is that they can receive an extra week’s holiday a year if they fund their own trip to work at the orphanage.”

“This year we are also keen to give back to our local community and it is for this reason that we have decided to support Daisy’s Dream. The charity does some amazing work, supporting children and the families affected by life threatening illnesses and bereavement and so is a very worthy cause.”

Interested parties can get involved by taking a table, offering a donation or raffle prize, or sponsoring the event.
