Iconic Food Store Expands Wholesale Operation

  • The new service offers fine food outlets the best products in the quantities they require and delivered when they need them.

To head up the expansion and promote the new wholesale range, Linda Walters has been appointed to the new post of sales development manager. She says, “I was first introduced to Lewis & Cooper when I was living in London. My neighbour came to Northallerton on holiday and brought me back one of the store’s award-winning plum puddings. I moved to North Yorkshire 11 years ago and I now send my old neighbour this same pudding every Christmas.

“Lewis & Cooper has a reputation for high quality service and excellent food. The new wholesale range offers a bespoke service to cater for people’s own special requirements, whether their order is big or small.”

One firm already enjoying the benefits of Lewis & Cooper’s wholesale service is Bowe & Co, in Boroughbridge. Owner, Liz Bowe, is now stocking puddings, biscuits and cooked meats from the Northallerton business. “I was a chef for many years and used to go up to Lewis & Cooper for dried fruits that I couldn’t get anywhere else,” she says. “It’s a trusted name that people recognise and look out for.”

The wholesale range includes local and continental cheese, home-cooked ham, beef, pork, continental smoked meats, fish, olives, dried mushrooms, fruit cakes and Lewis & Cooper’s award-winning plum pudding.
