He will assume the post in January 2015.

Giles Henschel, founder director of Olives Et Al said, “This is a hugely exciting time for Simon to be returning to the business, which is developing rapidly. We have just celebrated our 21st birthday and have ambitious plans for growth in the next few years as well as some exciting projects in progress now.

“Having worked with Olives Et Al before, Simon knows the business inside out and with his wide knowledge and experience in the sector he is the ideal partner to work with me to realise our plans. Having him on board as my Managing Director will add a huge degree of strength and stability to the team.”

Simon Hurley, new managing director of Olives Et Al said, “Olives Et Al is a company and brand that I have always loved and have remained close to in the years since I left. Coming back now is absolutely the right thing to do at exactly the right time and I’m really looking forward to working with Giles and the team again – this time as MD.

“My recent experience in retail makes the Loaf & Larder development particularly exciting; but I am also confident that the new products we are working on will take the business the next leap forward – can’t wait to get started.”

Olives Et Al has plans to expand in the upcoming year, and are looking to develop its newly-acquired gluten-free pastry and pie business.
