Entries open for British Cheese Awards 2020

Entries are now open for this year’s British Cheese Awards. Cheesemakers are encouraged to enter cheeses for the event, which is set to take place on 28th May at The Royal Bath & West Show in Somerset.

The 70 experts will judge 126 classes of cheese in 13 categories and score cheeses on presentation, texture, aroma, flavour and balance, with gold, silver and bronze medals being awarded for the top cheeses. One cheese will also be named Supreme Champion.

In 2019 the judges saw nearly 900 entries from over 120 cheesemakers.

Julius Longman, chairman of the British Cheese Awards, said, “The British Cheese Awards demonstrate the quality and diversity of cheesemaking in the UK. We are proud that these Awards give producers recognition and accreditation from their peers and industry experts. It’s always a wonderful event, topped off with a fantastic celebratory dinner.”

Entries close on 10th April 2020.
