Butcher Wins Competition for Third Time

Steve Perrins, of Taylor’s Farm Shop, in Lathom, was crowned winner of the Eblex Farm Shop Beef Butchery competition.

Each of the eight butchers who made it to the competition final spent an hour preparing and displaying produce to impress the judges.

Michael Richardson, Eblex direct selling programme manager, said, “The standard of the competition gets better and better each year and it was incredibly difficult to decide on the winner from a very strong field of competitors.

“At the end of the day, however, there can only be one winner. Steve demonstrated high quality butchery skills to produce a wide range of cuts to maximise overall consumer appeal, which was fantastic.”

Mr Perrins added that his high standards of butchery and innovation when it comes to cuts of meat were the secrets to his success.
