  • An inspiring television series is looking to showcase the talents of young UK workers, whilst finding the finest young butcher in the land

The search is now on to find Britain’s top young butcher of the year. The producers are looking for someone aged between 16-25 years.

The candidate must be up for a challenge and want to be a true ambassador for the trade.

Following the success of last year’s series, young butcher of the year is part of a BBC three series which celebrates young trade talent across the country. The programme will also hunt for the best beautician, plumber and fishmonger.

There are talent shows for dancers, singers and entertainers but what about all those who never see the limelight?

If you are a talented young butcher, the BBC wants to hear from you or if you know someone who fits the bill please get in touch.

The application process officially opens in July 2010 and is active for one month.

But interested applicants can register immediately by emailing youngtalent@bbc.co.uk or send a self-addressed envelope to Young Talent of the Year (series 2), Casting Team, Room 4060, BBC Entertainment, Oxford Road, Manchester M60 1SJ.

Throughout July and August, the BBC will invite successful applicants to first and second stage interviews conducted by industry experts in Manchester and London.
