Long Clawson Dairy, which produces the new Claxstone range of cheeses, won the Supreme Champion award and gold in the Speciality Cheese category for its Claxstone Smooth Blue.

It also won gold in the European category for Claxstone Blue Stilton.

The awards, held at the Royal Bath and West Show, was the first of the season for the new range.

Janice Breedon, marketing manager for Claxstone, said, “We are delighted that the Claxstone range is already receiving such great accolades from across the cheese industry. We’ve developed a truly British cheese range, which has not only utilised the heritage of Long Clawson Dairy, but provided cheese buyers with a selection of cheeses to make every cheese occasion special – it’s great to see it being received so well!

“We used our century-old expertise along with consumer research to develop these four delicious flavours, supported by Long Clawson Dairy’s reputation for quality and passion in cheesemaking,” she added.
