Food Centre Reaches Farm Shop Finals

The Ludlow Food Centre has been shortlisted for three categories – the Best On-Farm Butchery Award, the Own & Local Award and the Farm Retailer of the Year Award.

The awards recognise the UK’s best farm shops, with potential winners judged by trade professionals and fellow retailers, who take into account customer service, retail and management skills.

In total, 80% of the food on offer at the centre comes from Shropshire and the surrounding counties.

Rita Exner, secretary of FARMA, said, “We are very excited to have Ludlow Food Centre as a finalist in the 2013 FARMA Awards. It is a truly unique farm retail outlet, bold in its ambitions and confident in its achievements.

“In the next round of judging, the judges will be looking in more depth at all the finalists, taking into account both the customer experience and the retailing and management skills behind the scenes. We wish everyone at Ludlow Food Centre the best of luck for the next round of judging,” she added.
