Most retailers of fine foods would agree that any opportunity to learn more about the products they sell is likely to prove a sound business investment… and when the opportunity in question is a FREE two-hour masterclass with a renowned industry expert… well, suddenly you’re looking at a chance that’s really not to be missed!

This March, the incomparable Juliet Harbutt will once again present a series of interactive seminars for deli owners across the country; aimed at honing their skills, increasing their understanding of some of Europe’s best loved products, and ultimately, maximising their profits.

The masterclasses, now in their third year, are part of ‘Discover the Origin’ – an initiative that was launched in 2009, backed by the European Union and part financed by The Burgundy Wine Board (BIVB), The Port and Douro Wines Institute (IVDP) and the Parma Ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortiums. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and enhance knowledge of products with a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) or Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC). By the end of each sample-rich session, attendees will have tasted some of the finest Parma Ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, shipped from the Consortiums; learned to distinguish between and assess different vintages; and mastered the art of cutting the perfect piece of Parma ham… and all for free!

Classes will be held in London, Chester, Bournemouth, York and Birmingham. In previous years, the sessions have proved extremely popular so, with numbers limited to a maximum of 20 participants for each, it’s a good idea to get your name down as soon as possible to guarantee your place.
