Highfield Preserves Offers Own-Label Service

The Devon-based producer is proud to create its range in high quality small batches, and everything – from filling to labelling – is done by hand. Emma Fraser, General Manager of Highfield Preserves said, “It is very important to us to retain these traditional methods to ensure the very best quality and flavour. It is what makes our preserves special.” Time-honoured methods are key to the company’s output. “We cook in open pans, not dissimilar to the way you would make preserves yourself at home. We did not want long automated lines or a mass-produced product, it is not what we are about. We want to make products that are special and made to the highest standard possible, products that we can be proud of.”

Highfield Preserves’ range contains well-known favourites including strawberry jam and red onion marmalade as well as more quirky flavours such as a pineapple and chilli chutney, and the company now offers bespoke own-label products for companies across the speciality food world. Emma Fraser said, “We have found that our passion and experience at producing quality preserves for 30 years has bought own-label customers to us who want to buy into our trusted ability to deliver a quality product.

“A big part of what we are now able to do is to work to develop bespoke recipes for people under their own label. Batch size is not a problem for us – we can produce large or small batches of bespoke recipes to our customers’ requirements. This is an aspect of our business that we really enjoy – it is very inspirational for us to work with others on a variety of different products and flavours, building our expertise as a producer.”

The service is available to businesses across the food sector, from independent retailers to department stores and chefs. One Michelin-starred chef said, “Highfield is able to produce top quality products that I am proud put my name to.”

An online delicatessen said, “We have used Highfield Preserves to provide us with own label jams and chutneys for several years now. Product provenance is very important to us and we have always found that Highfield is able to consistently deliver high quality coupled with excellent customer service.”
