6 Hot Tips For Summer Sales

Summer signage
Let them know it’s not Christmas. Use signs to point up your summer goods and be liberal with evocative words like ‘summer, ‘hot’, ‘cool’ and ‘seasonal’. Sell items flagged ‘Summer Strawberries,’
‘Cool Cordials’

Summer Stock
Make the most of seasonal fruit and veg. Outside displays of fresh summer produce draw people in. Ensure you have plenty of locally-grown salad makings, good fresh Bries, summer fruits and fine cold meats such as British air-dried hams and chorizos

Quench Thirsts
Now is the time to promote your range of artisan cordials, coconut waters, light beers, and ciders as flavoursome alternatives to the fizz sold in the shop next door. Having your drinks chiller clearly visible from an open door is a boon on a hot day and will pull in footfall

Cool ‘Em Down
Your ice cream and sorbet will be much in demand. Ensure your freezer cabinet is prominently positioned and choose your ice cream carefully. Offer something local or clearly different from the product sold in nearby convenience shops or supermarkets

Picnics and beach bags
Summer picnic hampers, grab bags and sandwiches-to-go all make life easier for the time-pressed tourist and allow you to move a selection of summer products. Sell fresh young cheeses, salads, artisan breads, charcuterie, pork pies, home made slaws. Use them to offer tasters of your product range

BBQs
A hot day brings out butterflies, ice creams vans and BBQs. Keep your meat cabinet stocked with burgers and sausages made with high quality, locally reared beef and pork and draw attention to accompaniments such as bread rolls, ketchup, rubs, chilli sauces and chutneys
