Interest In Scottish Show Up 13%

  • Attendance at Scotland's Speciality Food Show (Jan 24th-26th) was up 13% on last year

“The country continues to be renowned for its small, quality food producers and the show didn’t disappoint. Retailers are increasingly looking for original, tasty products and we had plenty of these,” said Mark Saunders, organiser.

This year the event was incorporated into the same hall as the well-established Scotland’s Trade Show, allowing buyers to source food in a giftware context and prompting positive feedback from both visitors and buyers.

“It was an excellent show and well worth travelling to. We found various new suppliers and also made contact with existing ones, which is important for stores that are located in more remote areas like ours,” Sheana Catto from The Spey Larder in Aberlour.

Producers were equally pleased with event.

“There were many interesting and serious buyers across the three days. It’s been a great tool to help raise awareness for our products and the range of things we do,” said Andrew Ramsay from butchers Ramsays of Carluke in Clyde Valley.

Scotland’s Speciality Food Show was held at the SECC in Glasgow.
