  • Planet Organic, the organic food retailer, is to open two new branches in north London's Muswell Hill and Islington
neighbourhoods, proving that there is a clear demand for organic produce.

The brand, which already has three existing outlets in Notting Hill and Fulham, in west London, and Torrington Place
in central London, has signed leases on two properties and the new stores are expected to open in mid-summer 2008.

The 4,200sq ft Muswell Hill branch was previously a building merchants. It will have parking for 80 cars and will be
able to seat 30 people in its in-store café. The 5000sq ft Islington outlet, on Essex Road, will also have an in-store
café.

Brian Elliott, managing director of Planet Organic, said, “Unlike the supermarket giants, we’d like to preserve and
nourish the valuable relationship held between independent shopkeeper and customer, as well as provide a welcoming
stop for people to lunch and a place for locals to meet.”
