The wine area of the shop covers 7,000 sq ft, and now includes separate rooms including the Champagne Room, New World and Old World wine sections and the Large Format Bottle Zone, where collectors can choose between a range of sizes from magnums and jeroboams to imperials and 18 litre melchiors.

The copper-clad Spirits Room showcases unique releases from brands including Remy Martin Louis XIII, The Dalmore, The Macallan, Glenfiddich and Courvoisier.

Bruce Langlands, director of foods at Harrods, said, “The redevelopment is an opportunity to improve an increasingly diverse range of products and to cement the longstanding relationship between Harrods and the world’s finest drinks producers. This fantastic renovation really reflects the mutual strive for continual and consistent quality.”

Many key areas of the original wine shop have remained, including the temperature-controlled Wine Vault, a private tasting room and the cigar rooms, run by the oldest cigar merchants in the world, JJ Fox.
