While typically associated with warmer climes, consumers are now looking to free from ice cream alternatives to enjoy the treat all year round, according to the retailer.

In response to the rise in demand, Waitrose has introduced a new range of dairy and gluten-free vegan ice cream to its freezer aisle.

Chris Moore, ice cream buyer at Waitrose said, “It’s been an unusually cold start to spring, yet this hasn’t stopped our customers indulging in ice cream. Sales show that our customers are exploring alternative ice creams and our new coconut milk range should satisfy the growing appetite for these.”
