  • The retailer's London flagship store will now play host to a chocolate library, where customers will be guided by a 'chocarian' through the range of bean to bar, dark, milk, blonde and white chocolates

The range of 400 chocolate bars will be shelved alphabetically, and consumers will be helped by the chocarian to find the right chocolate for their tastes.

This is the largest collection of chocolates available to buy in the UK, and includes single-origin chocolate, classic flavour combinations and more unusual varieties such as camel milk chocolate.

The library forms part of Selfridge’s new 4000 square foot confectionery hall, which stocks 200 new products and 50 new brands. 30 of the brands are exclusive, as are 240 of the product lines.

Emma Murphy, Selfridges chocolate buyer said,  “We have worked hard over the last year to create one of the most extensive range of chocolate bars available in the UK. We have sourced only the finest chocolate from the best chocolatiers from around the world - focusing on the unusual and exciting. Not only did we focus on stocking the best tasting chocolate, we have introduced over 200 exclusive chocolate brands in order to ensure customers were given a wide range of choice.”
