Smokehouse Pays Off For Deli-pub

13 October 2011, 07:41 AM
  • Two pub owners are reaping the benefits of a having a deli and a smokehouse, only three months after opening

Rob and Liz Allcock refitted The Longs Arms in Upper South Wraxall only in July this year and have already seen a big increase in custom.

The site which features a smokehouse has a menu where everything is homemade because Rob bakes the bread, smokes the fish and meat, makes the sausages and burgers and all the desserts including delicious ice creams and sorbets. All the meat including game and venison is sourced locally and the vegetables come from Bromham.

Liz and Rob are also selling their wares direct from the bar to locals who want to take home some of the delicious homemade smoked products or fresh bread, milk, butter, jams and chutneys.

When asked what sort of customers, Rob draws in he said, “We attract a good mix of regular and new clients, which includes people that live in the village and surrounding areas, locals that drink/eat in our pub, and also new visitors.”
