Stocking Secrets: Harrods

Best-sellers
We find that the traditional Christmas foods tend to be best-sellers. In particular Christmas puddings along with mince pies and Christmas cake.

Traditional vs modern
Our range typically appeals to both. Our traditional offer of Christmas puddings always includes an element of us leading trends with ingredients and packaging formats, e.g. plum melting middle Christmas pudding which combines traditional ingredients in a contemporary format.

Trend watch
We have seen a move towards more luxury ingredients with great provenance. We use specific varieties of fruits in our puddings, e.g. Victoria plums, Vostizza currants, Chilean flame raisins. Traditional foods will still play a part in our overall customer demand, however, our innovative launches will be welcomed by our customer, e.g. world exclusive on packaging for musical light-up snowing tin biscuits. Gold and shimmer will also be a big trend as customers turn to glitz and glamour this Christmas.

Gifting
For traditional gifting we have a beautiful range of panettone in hat boxes from Vincente, an artisan producer based in Sicily. Our exclusive range of Mill & Mortar have created a range of spice sets perfect for baking your Christmas cake or using to infuse mulled wine. For the modern foodie, our range of Saxon Chocolate is guaranteed to surprise and delight – from peppermint chocolate pretzels to snowflake marshmallow hot chocolate.
