  • The Taste of the West Trade Show from 21st to 22nd April aims to connect buyers with suppliers from the South West and key national suppliers of quality international produce and deliver an insightful seminar programme throughout the two days.

Exhibitors and buyers will benefit from expert knowledge and learn about subjects such as sustainable packaging, effective exporting and creative marketing. The latest development is that Meat South West will be targeting the food service sector with their seminars on adding value and profit through improved carcass utilisation, product development and creating closer links with suppliers.

Here are the seminar details with timings to allow visitors to plan their time at the show:


MONDAY 21ST APRIL

MEAT SOUTH WEST SEMINAR:
ADDING VALUE TO RED MEAT AND ULTIMATELY INCREASING RETURNS.

Help understand the carcass and the supply chain better and develop new innovative methods of utilising the whole carcase, including the cheaper cuts.

Nigel Yeo from Philip Dennis Foodservice will be running the workshops illustrating the opportunities of adding value with the Exmoor beef range and award-winning Exmoor burger. There will be a fascinating butchery demonstration using modern butchery methods to add value and utilise more of the carcase. Rupert Dod an Exmoor beef farmer will talk through the Exmoor beef project and the importance of integrating the supply chain.

The workshop will cover the following key areas: Carcass Utilisation, Product Development, The Supply Chain.

Following the seminars you are invited to attend a cooking demonstration showing new and innovative ways of utilising the cheaper parts of the carcase to add value and ultimately greater profit margins.
