  • Having only been open for nine months, Food For Thought in Ringwood is defying the economic doom and gloom, and outperforming its original sales estimates.

Owner, Jonathan Boswell, says that despite the perceived economic and financial climate, Food For Thought is expecting first year sales to exceed budgets by 28%.

Alongside its sales success, the store has also quickly built a loyal customer base and was recently voted the customers favourite independent retailer by readers of Wiltshire Society Magazine. Mr Boswell said he was both “shocked and proud to have won this accolade.”

Food For Thought opened it’s doors in October 2007 offering customers not only world class service, but an assortment exceeding 2,500 unique and
extraordinary speciality food lines, together with an exquisite shopping experience within the most beautifully sparkling, bright, presentable and
relaxed retail environment. Mr Boswell explains that his team has worked tirelessly to offer his customers both a new and established shopping experience of distinction, constantly responding to customer wishes and striving to deliver quality and excellent service.

Mr Boswell chose Ringwood to open his new business venture due to the close proximity to the New Forest, capturing both the through traffic to and from the West Country, whilst also offering a retail experience of distinction to the local residents of all three Counties of Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

Looking ahead, he is optimistic for the future and puts the success of the business down to the warm and inviting welcome every customer receives on entering the shop. ”We are totally astounded by the reception we have received from the local community, we are greatly looking forward to the continued success of the
business and support from our established customer base,” Mr Boswell concludes.
