  • The recent launch of Yorkshire and Humber's Food & Drink Sourcing Directory aims to encourage increased use of the regions locally sourced produce

The newly published directory, set up by the Regional Food Group (RFG), features trade contacts of retailers, producers, distributors and specialist service providers.

Retailers have welcomed the resource.

“So far it’s proven a really useful way of finding out more about our local producers. The RFG is a reputable brand, so it’s a much more reliable way of researching products than just browsing around on Google,” said Oliver Wright, owner of Billy Hill’s Farm Shop in Barnsley.

“Yorkshire and Humber is the nation’s biggest and most diverse food producer. It’s home to some of our best-known food companies and has the highest concentration of small enterprises,” confirmed Jonathan Knight, RFG chief executive.

“We introduce companies within the food industry to each other, hold regular Meet the Buyer events to encourage partnerships and strengthen supply chains. The directory is a great tool to start the process of building contacts,” he explained.

Retailers, distributors and anyone working in the hospitality sector can receive a free copy of the directory by emailing jane.chamberlain@regionalfoodgroup.co.uk.
