The creamery was asked to send four types of cheese to the IWSC award ceremony, including Black Dub Blue, Hootenanny, Eden Valley Organic Brie and Keverigg.

The IWSC Group is an international organisation which represents and promotes wines and spirits of world distinction. The cheeses were selected to go with the wines and spirits on offer at the event.

Maurice Walton, managing director of Appleby Creamery, said, “We were absolutely delighted when we received the invitation. It is viewed as quite a privilege to be selected as the sole cheese supplier. Our cheeses certainly meet the quality that is needed and Honister Quarry have provided engraved slates for the cheeses to be presented on ensuring Cumbria will be the focus at this event.”

Appleby Creamery has enjoyed recent success in attaining Taste Cumbria Gold and Champion awards for four of its cheeses, as well as enjoying growing recognition.
