  • The tenth annual True Taste Food and Drink Awards in Wales has recognised companies who focus on agriculture and farm produce

Held at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru on 20th October, the ceremony rewarded the best and most innovative food and drink products in the country.

The Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill in Carmarthenshire took home the gold for having the finest Welsh beef steaks, and Cig Mynydd Cymru’s rack of Welsh lamb was deemed the best in the nation.

Alun Davies, deputy minister for agriculture, food and fisheries, said, “For a decade the Wales True Taste Food and Drink Awards have been at the forefront of promoting the wonderful array of Welsh produce, and cement the important partnership between the food industry and Welsh government.

“The skill and enthusiasm of producers has put our produce on the world stage, and the True Taste Awards give new and established businesses an important promotional platform.”

Other winners at the event included Emma and Mark Baravelli, who were awarded the Product of the Year trophy for their Lemon Marmalade with Brecon Welsh Gin. They also won accolades for their Vanilla Salted Caramels and Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream.
