  • A Lancashire-based cheesemaker has been chosen to supply a high profile golf competition.
Cheesemaker to Supply Golf Open Championship

Dewlay Cheesemakers, based in Garstang, will be serving creamy Lancashire, tasty Lancashire and Garstang blue cheeses at the Open Championship when it is held at Royal Lytham and St Anne’s Golf Club.

The week-long golfing event, held from 15th to 22nd July, aims to champion Lancashire’s finest food and drink.

Conor Daunt, marketing manager for Dewlay, said, “It’s great to be involved with such an important event in the Lancashire calendar for 2012, and such an honour to be chosen by their extremely prestigious caterers.”

Tom Parry, executive head chef for the Open Championship, added, “Dewlay provide the unique opportunity to taste true Lancashire flavour and it’s great to know of the effort they make to protect and preserve the environment.”
