International Menu at Nordic Organic Food Fair

A diverse range of nationalities will be showcased, thanks to the currently 83-strong selection of companies from 13 different countries.

100 products from Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Britain and the UK will be represented, and their producers vying for valuable spots on the shelves and menus of visiting retailers and food service professionals.

Scandinavia currently plays a large part in the expansion plans of many international companies, making it an ideal location for the event. Simultaneously, the demand for organic products is steadily rising. In fact, recent research from Organic Denmark indictates that 500 restaurants, cafés, and canteens are now displaying its Organic Eating Label (Det Økologiske Spisemærke), and Kiwi – one of the country’s top supermarkets – has reported a 145% rise in sales of organic products compared to this time last year.

Lee Holdstock, trade relations manager at Soil Association Certification said, “We’re proud to support the Nordic Organic Food Fair. Our presence there will form a key part of our Export Support Program, helping UK Soil Association symbol holders access new markets in the Nordic region.”

Jarste Weuffen, Agrarmarketing Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V’s managing director, believes that the launch is ideal as a means to promote the “diverse organic products” of its members, plus would strengthen and “grow trading links in Scandinavia.”
