Olympic Torch Visits Farm Shop

Just as the shop was opening Olympic organisers stopped by to use the Café Restaurant and Farm shop to stock up in supplies for their marathon day.

George Bradley, head of retail at Friday Street Farm, said, “We saw the van pull into our car park and two young ladies working for the Torch committee jumped out and visited the restaurant and the shop. We asked if we could have a couple of quick snaps with the torch in exchange for some of our PYO strawberries. It was a done deal!”

The organisers were preparing to help the Torchbearers on their journey around East Suffolk before the torch moved on later in the day.
