  • Food from Britain (FFB), the market development network for British food and drink producers, will be strengthening its support of regional food and drink producers as it announces its involvement with the regional food group promotions at Borough Market, where it will be running a market place.

The promotions will be a special regional food celebration of the best quality produce from different regions across the country and will be taking place in the heart of Borough Market, London, on the following dates:

2007

1 – 3 November: East Midlands Fine Food
8 –10 November: Yorkshire and Humber
15 – 17 November: North West Fine Food
22 – 24 November: Taste of the West
29 November – 1 December: Heart of England Fine Foods
6 – 8 December: South East Food Partnership

2008

31 January – 2 February: Northumbria Larder
7 – 9 February: East Midlands Fine Food
14 – 16 February: Taste of the West
21 – 23 February: North west Fine Food
28 February – 1 March: Yorkshire and Humber
6 – 8 March: Heart of England Fine Foods
13 – 15 March: South East Food Partnership
20 – 22 March: Taste of Anglia

At the market place, FFB will showcase four regional producers from a particular region each week with some 56 producers in total during the promotion period with mouth-watering products to sample and for sale. 

Producers taking part during the promotion period include Organic Smokehouse, which produces innovative ingredients such as smoked butter and smoked salt from Shropshire, The Handmade Scotch Egg Company from Herefordshire, which makes delicious and exciting flavoured scotch eggs, Casson English Herbs with its dressings and jellies from Hampshire, Stonelink Farm and its range of Sloe products from East Sussex to name a few, highlighting the richness and diversity of today’s regional food and drink up and down the country.
