  • Competition is set to be the fiercest yet at Nantwich International Cheese Show, with a record 2,652 entries in the 160 classes, providing buyers with a whole new list of exciting varieties and making the show a must-visit.

Taking place from 29th to 30th July at Dorfold Park in Nantwich, Cheshire, this year’s Nantwich International Cheese Show has enticed an extra 392 entries - an outstanding increase of almost 18%, with new classes for 2008 including Mixed Milk Cheese, Best Scottish Cheese, Best Irish Cheese and Best English Cheese.

Show chairman, Richard Paul, is delighted by the response from UK and international competitors. “We’ve got the cream of the world’s producers competing at Nantwich this year, and the judges will certainly have their work cut out. It’s very encouraging that last year’s poor weather hasn’t put people off – if anything it’s made competitors even more determined to support the Show.

“The Show has a proud history, and its continued success is down to making sure it remains fresh and relevant to the trade and producers as well as over 30,000 consumers who visit every year. We’re committed to ensuring Nantwich provides the number one showcase for world class products and expertise for many years to come,” he added.

For retailers wishing to pick up on the latest cheese trends and source the most innovative ranges, the Nantwich International Cheese Show is not to be missed.
