  • A student has seized the opportunity of running a deli after finding inspiration on a recent holiday

Denice Joseph, and her husband Jonathan have recently set-up a West Indian food business in the heart of Holyhead’s town centre.

The new owner who is studying nursing decided to approach the business venture after discovering an array of food shops in East Sussex; but a gap in her home-town.

Denice explains, “The idea was that this could work really well in Holyhead. I started doing some research and seeing what people thought, and a lot of people were saying it’s just what we need here – there isn’t another deli in Holyhead.”

“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from people and it’s doing really well. I didn’t know if people would take it but they seem to love it – it’s just something a bit different,” continues Denice.

To help the new proprietress balance her studies and her business, her husband will be running the shop on certain days.

The partners are planning to homemade a lot of produce and use as many local lines as possible including meat, chutneys and jams.
