Swiss department store Jelmoli, in Zurich, will stock the Yorkshire Blue and Bells Bluemin White cheeses in its food hall, the Gourmet Factory.

Katie Matten, director at Shepherd’s Purse, said, “We are so excited to be exporting our traditionally-handmade British blues to such a discerning cheese eating nation.

“We know that Jelmoli offers the finest produce from around the world and that it is hugely popular with Zurchers and nostalgic ex pats in search of a taste of home. We are very proud and passionate about our cheeses and hope they are a hit with the Swiss shopper,” she added.

The Yorkshire Blue is a continental style cow’s milk cheese, while Bells Bluemin White is a blue rind brie produced from cow’s milk in the Vale of York.

Jelmoli is a Selfridges-style department store with two million products for sale.
