Yorkshire Farm Shop Wins Regional Award

Drewton’s Farm Shop, near South Cave, took home the accolade at the White Rose Awards 2012, which is organised by Welcome to Yorkshire. The awards recognise the best of the region’s tourism offering.

The shop sources its products from over 200 suppliers, growers and producers across the county.

Katie Taylor, who owns Drewton’s Farm Shop, said, “The timing couldn’t have been better – the business is two years old and this award reflects just how far we’ve come. It was always my dream to open a farm shop selling the finest local, seasonal produce.

“I think it’s fair to say that we’ve achieved that goal as we’re now well known for being at the forefront of the ‘eat local’ movement and for our commitment to supporting Yorkshire-based food and drink producers. To win such a prestigious regional award is a marvellous second birthday present and a wonderful reward for the hard work of the entire team, as well as the many farmers, growers and food producers who supply us with their fantastic food and drink,” she added.
