Alimentaria set to return in 2020

Alimentaria 2020, the international food, drinks and food service show will be returning with more international business, fine cuisine experiences and trends.

Taking place from 20th – 23rd april 2020 at the Gran Via Venue in Barcelona, Alimentaria 2020, together with Hostelco, is preparing a unique show with new content aimed at promoting its business character, projecting fine food, latest trends in production and consumption of food and drinks. Food and drinks of Spain as well as international producers will all be under one roof.

The 2020 edition will also involve a new food trend area with the latest on Fine, Organic, Free From, Halal and Functional Foods.

The trade show is predicted to take over almost 100,000 m2 of exhibition space at the venue. As well as the key sectors such as the meat industry (Intercarn), dairy (Interlact), preserves (Expoconser), sweets (Snacks, Biscuits & Confectionery); the Mediterranean diet, fresh produce, olive and vegetable oils (Mediterranean Foods) and Food Service (Restaurama), Alimentaria is presenting in 2020 a new area focusing on trends. More specifically on Fine, Organic, Free From, Halal and Functional Foods, as well as Grocery Foods will join large food consumption companies.

Innovation and fine cuisine are also returning. Michelin star chefs,  cooking demonstrations, debates and activities showing the interrelation between food, fine cuisine and tourism industries among others, will be held at the 2020 show.

Alimentaria’s CEO, J.Antonio Valls., said, “Alimentaria as a reflection of the industry whose influence expands across everything that happens in the sector. An active mirror that projects and guides innovation, a motor for change and a continuous source of inspiration.”

In 2018, the show attracted more than 4,500 exhibiting companies (more than 1,000 from 70 countries) and around 150,000 visitors from 156 countries.
